Responsibilities

The Scribe Training Specialist plays a key role in delivering high quality, timely training to scribe students. The Scribe Training Specialist is responsible for ensuring that scribe trainees are trained properly through Elite Academy and are prepared to offer the best possible service to their clients. The Scribe Training Specialist ensures training material within Elite Academy is able to produce quality individuals. The Training Specialist will report to the Scribe Training Manager.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality, standardized training to scribe trainees through online live Scribe Simulation classes in both specialty and emergency medicine fields, discussions and feedback.
  • Assist in the revision of existing training materials and development of new training approaches and materials.  Focus on improving the scribe trainee experience through improved competency from the beginning of the scribe’s tenure.   This effort includes better charting competencies, better time efficiency, and decrease in the timeframe of the scribe’s learning curve.
  • Track the progress of trainees and provide personalized feedback on lecture submissions
  • Keep up-to-date of trends and new information on scribe training standards and approaches.  Integrate appropriate improvements into Elite Academy training program and materials.
  • Work as part of a team to determine the goals and measures of success for near term and continuous improvement training efforts.  

Qualifications

Specific Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to clearly articulate and support Elite’s goals for client programs through effective training.
  • Passion for developing and delivering training that is targeted and appropriate for the scribe employee base.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to adjust communication style as needed in relation to the audience (trainee, chief scribe, provider, etc.)
  • Able to work well in a team environment and be an energizing, effective team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, integrative, and problem solving skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and flexibility to work in a performance driven environment
  • Sense of accountability, owning one’s work, the training team’s work, and taking pride in the work.

  • Able to envision, develop, and implement strategies to address issues that arise during training projects.
  • Ability to appropriately set project priorities.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in the scribing industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of delivering training or education – as discrete projects or as part of an ongoing role.  Can include substitute or student teacher training experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science field or education, or with a minor in these areas.
  • Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) high level competency.
  • Desire to learn and accept new challenges.
  • Must be able to work weekends to accommodate trainee availability with online live classroom sessions
  • Must be able to contribute a minimum of 9 hours per week to training
    • Based on performance this position does have the opportunity to grow into a Full-time salaried position.

 

Total Travel Required: Up to 3%

 

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Frequent job activities include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling and hand/eye/foot coordination 40-75% of the time.
  • Occasional job activities may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions less than 24% of the time.
