Role and Responsibility:

The Regional Scribe Trainer is responsible for facilitating and delivering superior and high quality scribe training through various learning and instructional modalities at hospitals and clinics locally. The Regional Scribe Trainer is vital to the success of the Elite Medical Scribes training program, which initially places highly qualified candidates through a thorough and rigorous on-line training program, titled Elite Academy, as the Regional Scribe Trainer is responsible for cementing and building upon that knowledge during a new scribe’s on-site, in-person portion of training. This training program provides superior scribing services to medical providers in various clinical settings across the country. The Regional Scribe Trainer reports directly to the Regional Manager if training/scribing at an established scribe program or reports directly to the Project Manager, who reports to the Implementations Manager, if training/scribing at a new scribe program. If no Project Manager is present at the new location, the Regional Scribe Trainer reports directly to the Implementations Manager.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Conducting one-on-one, group, virtual, and hands on scribe training sessions at hospitals and clinics local to the Regional Scribe Trainer as directed.
  • Providing shift coverage at hospitals and clinics local to the Regional Scribe Trainer as directed.
  • Coaching, mentoring, evaluating, and providing feedback to candidates as they progress through the on-site portion of the Elite Medical Scribes Training Program.
  • Facilitation, administration and grading of candidates' on-site training objectives, recommending candidates for placement as a scribe or rejecting those candidates who fail to meet the rigorous standards of the program.
  • Ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by performing high quality and thorough training of new scribes and remaining professional in all behaviors.
  • Adhering to the Elite Medical Scribe attendance policy when staffing or training.

Non-Essential Job Functions:

  • Assisting with the staffing of new scribe programs by sourcing at the direction of the recruitment team.
  • Assisting with provider education to teach and inform providers how to use a scribe.
  • Communicating new scribe expectations and learning curve details to providers.
  • Establish and/or maintain provider scribe documentation preferences.


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the biological or life sciences, chemistry, or equivalent. May also substitute equivalent coursework, listed below, if degree is non-science:
    • Human Biology
    • General Chemistry
    • Human Anatomy
    • Human Physiology
    • Medical Terminology
  • At least three months of experience as a medical scribe or equivalent.
  • Experience working with a diverse population and demographics.

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience with training scribes.
  • Excellent communication, which can be defined as the ability to read, write and create and develop effective business correspondence.
  • Proficient in personal computer use.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical demands and working conditions:

  • Constant talking and listening activities in this position occur 80-90% of the time.
  • Frequent job activities include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling and hand/eye/foot coordination 40-75% of the time.
  • Occasional job activities may require lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions less than 24% of the time.
